What is Jeuveau?

Jeuveau is a FDA approved neurotoxin that is utilized for cosmetic injections. Jeuveau cosmetic treatment temporarily smooths the appearance of moderate to severe frown lines (glabellar lines). Jeuveau is a modern-made neurotoxin using Hi-Pure™ Technology. We offer Jeuveau here at DHH Med Spa in Scottsdale and many of our patients have been very pleased with their full results, resulting in reduced facial wrinkles and frown lines.

Benefits of Jeuveau injections

Just like Botox and other neurotoxins on the market, Jeuveau is injected into specific facial muscles to prevent nerve receptors from telling your facial muscles to flex and contract. Jeuveau currently has only FDA approval for the moderate to severe glabellar lines and wrinkles, however our expert injector Megan Davies FNP-BC is well versed in “off-label” use of this fda approved cosmetic use product. At our Scottsdale office, botulinum toxin is frequently also used in other areas such as crow’s feet and forehead lines. Glabellar lines are vertical lines can be found between the eyebrows. These lines are often referred to as the “elevens”. Preventing the muscles from moving will help with keeping a more youthful appearance and help delay the aging process.

Does Botox or Jeuveau last longer?

Botox (Botulinum toxin type A) and Jeuveau (prabotulinumtoxinA-xvfs) injections typically last anywhere from three to four months but can last up to six. Some studies have shown that patients did have longer lasting results with the Jeuveau, but really it varies person to person. A consultation is always recommended for patients to talk with their provider to determine which botulinum toxin is the best option for you.

Are there risks or potential side effects with Botox Cosmetic treatments?

The most common side effects of Jeuveau include pain, swelling or bruising at the injection site, which is similar to botox as well. These side effects are temporary. More serious side effects can include, but are not limited to, dry eye, drooping, blurred vision and allergic reaction.

Is Jeuveau cheaper than Dysport?

Jeuveau and Dysport are made up of different sized molecules. This means that 1 unit of Jeuveau is equal to 2.5 units of Dysport. It is not uncommon for Dysport to be priced cheaper per unit than Jeuveau injections. With that being said, each patient will need more units of Dysport to equal a Jeuveau treatment. The most efficient way to get an accurate quote would be a schedule a consultation at DHH Med Spa.

How soon following my Jeuveau treatment in Scottsdale will I see results?

Most patients start seeing improvement in their forehead wrinkles, crow’s feet and other treatment areas within a few days after injections. Optimal results will be seen two weeks after the procedure with smoother skin and less wrinkles.

Is Jeuveau treatment painful?

Most patients report little to no pain during treatment. A very tiny needle is used to treat crow’s feet and other parts of the skin with wrinkles. Topical numbing cream can be applied in our Scottsdale office if a patient is worried about discomfort, but most patients do not need numbing cream for their Jeuveau treatment.

When should I consider dermal filler versus Jeuveau injections?

Jeuveau is used for moderate to severe lines in the glabella. Areas of deeper facial wrinkles such as nasolabial folds, in which there is volume loss, would benefit from a dermal filler versus Jeuveau.
